Vehicle & DNR Licenses

The city does not provide license services for vehicles or Department of Natural Resources (DNR) transactions, nor does the city provide marriage licenses or passports. This service is provided by Dakota County at several locations, as well as a private company located within the City of Apple Valley. Some of these services include:

  • All driver and motor vehicle transactions, including:
    • vehicle license plate and tab renewals, title transfers, trailer registration, and out of state registration
    • Driver's licenses: change of address, lost or stolen replacements, renewal, and identification cards
  • Bicycle registrations
  • DNR transactions, including boat, snowmobile, and ATV licensing
  • Game and fishing licenses
  • Notary service
